Altavia offers its guests two beautiful stone farmhouses that have just been completed. Inside, the furnishings are simple but elegant, as important as the construction materials used. wooden ceiling harmoniously combine with the color of the stone: burnished iron elements contrast with the modernity of steel.

Perched on a hilltop at an elevation of 1,200 feet, protected from the cold winds by the Maritime Alps, the vineyard extends over a five hectare area.

Vines are trained with the cane pruning method, the typical pruning technique for the Rossese in this region, a local vine. This grape variety thrives especially well on calcareous and rocky soil.

Wines are aged in oak and steel barrels and the production totals approximately 40,000 bottles for year.

Mr Federico Curtaz is in charge both as wine grower and as wine maker. The four grape varieties grown in the vineyard are: Rossese, Vermentino, Syrah, and Touriga and produces ruby red, purplish wines, with a distinctive, intense yet delicate aroma.

Azienda Agricola ALTAVIA was founded in 2002 by two friends: Gianni Arlotti and Savino Luca Formentini.

Today Altavia is under the direction of Savino's sister, Chiara Formentini.
