A trip to the traditions in the land of Primitivo Wine! In the morning you will visit the Museum of the History of Primitivo, one of the most famous DOC and DOCG grapes in Italy. The museum is located inside the Winery ‘Produttori Vini Manduria’ and showcases the ancient ways of winemaking and focuses on the importance of agriculture as the identity of a community, through the preservation and valorization of local typical eno-gastronomic products.
Wine Tasting
The local traditions are explained as you taste the wines and food. The experience comes with a wine tasting of 4 wines (3 primitivo and 1 negroamaro grapes). A great experience to taste one of the best wine of Puglia and to learn about history and traditions of this land.
Grottaglie
In the afternon you will visit the pottery town of Grottaglie where, with the help of our English speaking guide, you will meet Mimmo, the ceramics master, that will welcome you in its laboratory and will tell you the history of ceramics in Grottaglie, will show you how to create a pot from scratch and you will also try to do one on your own.
Home Visit
The atmosphere is magic, between drawings and pots it will be like being back to old times! With Mimmo you will also visit his own house where he will show you the amazing garden, a hidden underground church and other ceramics in his own house museum.
Guided visit in English of ceramics workshop and meeting with the owner. Pottery experience. We will send the pot from the guest to their hometown, once ready.
